I’m Scott Markwood, Häfele America Co’s Training Coordinator. While a few of us at Häfele America Co have admin access to our blog, our Facebook page and our Twitter feed, the voice of Häfele America Co on Facebook and Twitter for the past few years has primarily been our Internet Marketing Coordinator, Rob Ainbinder. Rob recently accepted a position with a local ecommerce development and web marketing company, and we want to take this opportunity to say that we will miss Rob and his contribution to our presence on the “interwebs”. We have several new voices to introduce to you in the coming days, and we look forward to getting to know you.
As for me, I have been with Häfele America Co. since August 1999; first as a Product Trainer and for some years now as Training Coordinator. This encompasses training on the use of our products within our company and with our customers, as well as selling and customer service skills for our inside and outside sales force. I conduct regular webinars in-house, and have become quite adept at producing adequate videos for our internal use. I’ve enjoyed being involved with the AWI during their annual conventions, and have participated in several belt sander races at the AFWS woodworking show in Las Vegas.
Prior to accepting the position at Häfele I did architectural millwork and was in retail management of several DIY woodworking centers in Ohio and Massachusetts. I continue to do woodworking in my private shop for my family and friends, and am never happier than when I’m covered in shaving from my lathe.
In addition to posting on this blog I’ll be posting on Twitter and Facebook as well, and will try to start my posts with something that announces who I am. Perhaps something as clever as “Scott here…” (Your suggestions are welcome below.) If I fail to announce myself you’ll likely be able to tell my posts apart from the others by that fact that I’ll be the one talking in the first person playing with our hardware!
That’s enough for now. Thank you for all that you do to make our business a success, and we hope to continue to return the favor. Scott
